East Gwilliambury Moving Forward on Ambitious Community Energy Plan

The Town of East Gwillimbury, north of Toronto, is expected to grow from a population of 20,000 to as many as 150,000 by 2050. It recently completed a comprehensive Community Energy Plan that, among many other recommendations, calls for a district energy system. The Town recently retained Peter to assist them in the implementation of their new plan.

In his role as an Associate with Elenchus, Peter and Helen Platis (principal of Strategic Consulting for Elenchus) have delivered customized senior-level sessions on the implications of the Green Energy Act to the Veridian Board of Directors and the Durham Region Roundtable on Climate Change. The Durham session also included a briefing on greenhouse gas cap-and-trade programs delivered by Robert Tays of BECL and Assocaites.

York University’s Faculty of Environmental Studies Appoints New Adjunct Professor

Peter Love has been appointed Adjunct Professor in York University’s Faculty of Environmental Studies. He will be joining Professors Mark Winfield and Jose Etcheverry in their work to advance renewable energy and energy efficiency to students as well as the broader community.
